I know that February is heart healthy month, but that is not motivating me to exercise. Why should I exercise?


Appropriate exercise for your body is healthy for your muscles, bone density and flexibility, improves your sex life, keeps you trim and reduces the mortality and risk of recurrence of breast Cancer by 50 percent. It lowers the risk of Alzheimer's and any form of cancer and heart disease. However that is not why most people exercise. Exercise has so many mental health benefits with the bodies release of endorphins. It is beneficial for treatment of anxiety and depression, ADHD also PTSD. It improves and boosts your mood, increases your self esteem, increases sleep quality and boosts your immune system and increases energy levels during the day. Exercise is medicine and it's free. Start small, exercise on the weekend is better than no exercise. Start with achievable goals and do it with a friend to keep you accountable.
