Jamie Nott,
DPT

Jamie grew up in Wichita, Kansas before leaving home to attend St. Louis University. On the heels of his college graduation, he embarked on a 10-year career as a United States Marine Corps officer, during which he served as a pilot and a public affairs officer. After leaving the Marine Corps, Jamie worked in medical device marketing, where his work took him all over the country. During that time, he fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, and moved to Portland on the strength of a business trip. After working briefly as a pharmaceutical representative, Jamie decided he would rather be on the clinical side of medicine where he could directly collaborate with patients. He chose physical therapy because it was the medical application of things in which he was inherently interested, such as health, fitness, and performance.

As someone who became a PT later in life, Jamie likes to say he has been a patient for longer than he has been a physical therapist and places a significant emphasis on helping his patients understand their conditions and the applications of their exercises in addressing their pain and facilitating function. He enjoys collaborating with patients across the lifespan and spectrum of physical abilities and is enthusiastic about finding things that help all his patients address their specific situations. Jamie, since graduating from Army Baylor University, has gained extensive post-surgical experience, with rehabilitating Marines who have had traumatic shoulder and knee surgeries.

Jamie completed the prerequisites for physical therapy school at Portland State University and went on to the Army-Baylor University Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy, commissioning as a Navy officer. As a Navy physical therapist, Jamie served at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, aboard the USS Nimitz, and at Naval Station Everett.

After leaving the Navy in March 2023, Jamie and his family embarked on a 9-month RV trip in which he, his wife, five-year-old daughter explored the national parks of the Western states and looked for a place to permanently establish their lives. Of all the amazing places they traveled, Corvallis was by far their favorite! They were proud to plant their flag here and make this the place their daughter will call her hometown.

In his free time, Jamie enjoys hiking and exploring with his wife and five-year-old daughter, lifting weights, running, biking…and anything that gets him outside!
